Giovanni Pintori (1912-1999)
Giovanni was born in 1912 in Tresnuraghes, in the province of Oristano.
Finished his studies Isia (European Institute for Artistic Industries) in Monza in 1936.Here begins his career in ‘Olivetti. Since then, his name is associated with success at the famous manufacturer of Ivrea.
Pintori is aware of the problems of graphic design of that time and has a clear vision of the necessary solutions to a form of advanced communications.
His work is undoubtedly a more professional, competent, and creative culture.
Organizes exhibitions and produces a lot of posters for advertising campaigns where his company promotes.
It becomes a major contributor to the world of Olivetti.
In his career he received many awards, we must remember the Golden Palm of the Italian Federation of Advertising (1950).
His works have had a central place in the biggest museums in the world, in 1952, the MOMA in New York for the exhibition of “Design in Industry”, dedicated to Olivetti.
The Louvre in Paris (1955) filled a whole room with its projects.
Many articles that relate to his graphic work, appearing on the most prestigious magazines of the time as “Fortune” (1953-1957).
In 1969 Olivetti Pintori leaves and began working as a freelance graphic designer for Pirelli, Ambrosetti Gabbinelli.
In recent years abbadonò his career to devote himself entirely to painting graphics.
